Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

Your Family Photo is operated by Flightpath Publishing, Inc. (“Your Family Photo,” “we,” “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit yourfamilyphoto.com, upload a photograph, request a preview, place an order, receive a gift or contact us.

Our service restores family photographs and produces framed prints. Photographs can be deeply personal. We use your uploads to provide the service you request, and we do not use them in public advertising or to train AI models. The sections below explain who needs access to your information, how long we keep it and how to ask us to delete it.

Personal information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we collect:

  • Contact and delivery information: your name, email address, billing and shipping addresses, and a telephone number if you provide one or it is needed for delivery. For gifts, this includes the recipient’s name and delivery details.
  • Order and payment information: products and options selected, payment status, transaction references, proof approvals, delivery information, refunds and other order records. Payment providers process the payment details entered at checkout; do not send card details by email.
  • Photographs and restoration information: original uploads, reference photographs, previews, edited versions, final files, comments, correction requests, known colors and other details you choose to give us. Files may contain technical metadata, including when or where a photograph was taken. Photographs may show people other than the buyer.
  • Support and preference information: messages you send us, feedback, privacy requests and records of marketing or other permissions.
  • Website and device information: IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, referral links, approximate location inferred from your connection, shopping activity and cookie or similar identifiers. Collection for optional analytics and advertising depends on the privacy choices and legal requirements that apply.

We receive information from you, from a person who places a gift order or supplies a photograph on your behalf, from your browser or device, and from service providers such as Shopify, payment providers and delivery companies. Advertising and referral partners may tell us which advertisement or referral led to a visit or order.

Please provide only what we need for your request. Do not send identity documents, payment-card images or other unrelated sensitive information. Make sure you are entitled to upload the photograph and share any information you provide about other people.

How we use personal information

We use information to:

  • receive and assess photographs, produce previews, perform restoration, check the result and prepare your proof;
  • process orders and payments, record your approval, print and ship your frame, provide digital files and administer corrections, replacements and refunds;
  • answer questions and send service messages, including proof reminders and delivery updates;
  • operate, troubleshoot and secure the website, prevent fraud and protect our customers and business;
  • understand website and advertising performance, attribute referrals and manage creator commissions, subject to your privacy choices;
  • send marketing messages when you have chosen to receive them; and
  • meet legal, accounting and tax obligations and resolve disputes.

We need a usable photograph, the information required to process payment, and a delivery address to complete a framed-photo order. If you choose to send the photograph later, we hold the order until the necessary photograph and approval are received. Optional marketing permission is not a condition of purchase.

How we handle your photographs

Our restoration service uses image-processing software, including AI-assisted tools after purchase, and human review. Authorized reviewers can see the original, reference images and edited versions so they can check the result and make corrections. A person checks each order, and we send you a proof to approve before printing.

Our permission to handle your photographs is limited to providing the requested service, including corrections, delivery, customer support and the YourFamilyPhoto Promise. We do not sell your photographs, put them in a public gallery, supply them to advertising platforms, or use them to train AI models. We do not authorize our restoration and printing providers to use your photographs for those purposes. We do not use facial recognition to identify the people shown or build identity profiles.

If we would like to feature your photograph, story or before-and-after result, we will ask for separate, specific permission. Uploading a photograph, buying a frame or accepting a proof does not give that permission. Declining has no effect on your order.

Proof and download links can give access to your photograph. Only share them with people you want to see it, and contact us if a link reaches the wrong person. Keep your own copy of your original and downloaded files; this service is not a permanent photo archive.

Who we share information with

We share information when needed for these purposes:

  • Commerce and payments: Shopify hosts our store and checkout. Shopify and payment providers process contact, order, payment, device and transaction information to operate the store and payment services.
  • Photo processing and storage: ourhosting, storage and image-processing providers receive the files and technical information needed for upload, restoration, proofing and delivery of digital files. Authorized staff and contracted reviewers receive the access needed to work on your order.
  • Printing and delivery: Our print supplier receives the approved print file, printing instructions and the recipient details needed to produce and send the frame. Delivery companies receive the information required to ship and track it. They do not need your full restoration history or reference-photo collection.
  • Communications and support: email and support providers process contact information, service messages and information needed to help with your request.
  • Advertising, measurement and referrals: partners may receive device identifiers, permitted contact identifiers, browsing or order events, referral information and order values to measure advertising or attribute a sale. This can include Meta and creator-attribution services. Photographs, proof images, photo-access links and restoration notes are excluded from advertising and referral data.
  • Legal and business purposes: professional advisers, authorities or other parties where necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, investigate fraud or handle a business transaction such as a merger or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

We limit service-provider access to the information needed for the work they perform. Some providers, including payment providers and Shopify for certain services, also process information under their own privacy policies.

If you give us a gift recipient’s details, we use them to fulfill the gift and resolve delivery issues. We do not add the recipient to our marketing list. Our order and proof emails go to the buyer; a delivery carrier may contact the recipient when needed to deliver the parcel.

Our relationship with Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes information about visits, purchases and other interactions with the store to provide its services. We use Shopify Network Intelligence and enhanced features that combine information about interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to support personalized shopping, advertising and measurement. Information is shared with Shopify and other providers that may be located in other countries for these purposes, subject to the privacy choices and legal requirements that apply.

Shopify is responsible for some of its own uses of this information. Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and use Shopify’s Privacy Controls to learn about choices available directly with Shopify. You can also contact us about our handling of your information.

Cookies, advertising and your choices

Cookies and similar technologies help keep the store working, remember choices, secure checkout and, where permitted, measure visits and advertising. Optional advertising technologies can allow partners to recognize a browser or device across websites and show or measure advertising. Under some US privacy laws, certain advertising disclosures are called a “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” even when no money is paid for the data.

Use the store’s Your Privacy Choices link to manage available cookie and advertising choices, or email team@yourfamilyphoto.com to request an opt-out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Rejecting optional tracking does not prevent you from ordering. Necessary technologies may still be used to provide and secure the service.

We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by applicable law. The preference normally applies to the browser or device sending it; you may need to set your preference on other devices. The older “Do Not Track” browser setting is different and is not treated as a separate opt-out instruction. Use the privacy controls above or contact us instead.

To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in an email or contact us. We may still send messages needed to complete or support an order. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information about people under 16 for targeted advertising.

How long we keep information

Our photo-retention periods are:

Information Retention period
Uploads and previews that are not attached to a paid order 30 days from upload.
Originals, reference photographs and working versions for a delivered order 180 days after delivery.
Approved final print files and the digital files supplied with your order 12 months after delivery.
Files for an active order or an unresolved correction, replacement, refund or other claim Kept while needed to complete the order or resolve the claim, even if the normal period above has ended.

After the applicable period, we delete operational photo copies unless a legal obligation or a specific dispute requires us to retain limited information. Restricted backup copies are removed through backup rotation and are not used for ordinary service or marketing purposes. We require service providers handling photos for us to follow the applicable deletion instructions, subject to legal requirements.

You can ask for earlier deletion by emailing us. If an order or claim is still open, we will explain any effect on the work or records we must retain; asking about deletion does not automatically cancel your order or remove your refund rights.

We retain necessary order, payment, tax, approval, support and privacy-request records for the periods needed to meet legal obligations, maintain evidence of transactions, prevent fraud and resolve disputes. These needs do not justify keeping every photo version indefinitely. Marketing preferences are retained while needed to respect your choices, including a limited record of an unsubscribe request.

Security

We use safeguards designed to protect information and limit access to people and providers who need it for their work. No website, storage service or transmission method can guarantee complete security. Contact us promptly if you believe your order information or photo-access link has been accessed without permission.

Your privacy rights and requests

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Rights can have exceptions, including where information is needed to complete an order, comply with law or resolve a dispute.

Email nicholas@yourfamilyphoto.com with your request. Include the email address used for the order and an order number if available; do not send an identity document unless we specifically explain why it is needed. We may need reasonable information to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority before disclosing, changing or deleting information. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain if we cannot fulfill a request in full. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

If you disagree with our decision, reply to request a review or, where your law provides one, an appeal. You may also complain to your applicable privacy regulator or state attorney general. Where UK data protection law applies, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children and photographs of other people

The service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Family photographs may include children, but we do not invite children to create accounts, place orders or upload photographs themselves. If you believe a child has provided information directly to us without appropriate authority, or that a photograph of you has been submitted without permission, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

International processing

We are a US company serving US customers. We and our service providers may access or process information in other countries, where privacy laws can differ. US printing and delivery do not mean that all website, email or photo processing takes place in the United States. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we apply the safeguards required for that transfer. Contact us for information about a relevant transfer or the protections that apply.

Third-party websites

Our website may link to other websites or services. Their operators are responsible for their own privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information to them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy with a revised date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required, such as a notice on the website or an email, and obtain any consent the law requires before making a new use of information.
